Race Day Details
On The Day Registrations
On the day registrations close at 8.15 am sharp. Pre paid registrants must report to the registration table by 8.30 am. Participants who miss these cut off times cannot be guaranteed that they will be in the running for prizes as our automated race timing system needs to be shut off and driven to the top of the mountain prior to the race start.
On the day registrations are cash only. We strongly urge all participants to pre register at chslsc.com
Parking
Parking close to the start line is in short supply. You may have to walk for 10-15 minutes to get to the start line. Please make sure that you allow plenty of time for this.
A limited amount of parking is available for spectators at the top of the mountain. This will be on a first come first served basis. A bus will also take spectators to the finish line. This bus will depart the starting area at 8.25 am.
Immediately after the final participant has completed the course the event bus will return all people to the bottom of the mountain.
Clothing
It is likely to be considerably cooler at the top of the mountain than it is at the bottom. Participants must ensure that they have adequate clothing to complete the event and recover in comfort. There will be a gear truck at the start line where people can place their warm clothing. This will be available for you at the finish line. Walkers and Back of the Pack participants may wish to consider wearing warm clothing for the duration of the event. Alternatively you may wish to carry your warm top or tie it around your waist.
Race Bibs & Race Belts
All participants will be issued with race bibs so please bring your race number belt if you have one. There will be plenty of safety pins to pin your number on if you do not have a number belt.
Toilets
Toilets will be at the start and finish line.
Race Procedure
There will be one mass start.
Participants are required to self seed in the following order:
1) Competitive male and female runners - assemble here if you think you are a chance of winning your age group.
2) All other runners - assemble here if you intend to run most of the way but don't think you will be in the running for prizes.
3) Back of the Pack Club - assemble here if you intend to walk most of the way.
All participants must keep to the left hand side of the road at all times.
There will be two drink stations on the course. The first at about the 1.8 km mark will be provided and manned by Adrenaline Fitness. The second at around the 3.5 km mark will be manned by Camden Haven SLSC. At the finish line the recovery station is courtesy of Camden Haven SLSC. Drinks and fruit will be available.
Participants must obey all directions given by our volunteers during and after the event. This is maximise the safety of all participants and volunteers on the day.
The Camden Haven SES will provide a sag wagon and first aid and will follow behind the final competitor. If at any stage you are unable to go on you are to sit on the left hand side of the course and wait for assistance. There will be trained first aid providers at various points on the course. If you decided not to complete the course you must immediately hand your race bib to the nearest drink station or to the start line. This is to assist race organisors in ensuring the wellbeing of all competitors.
Any disputes or protests must be lodged with the race referee within 5 minutes of the last competitor completing the course. The race referee's instructions must be followed and the decision of the race referee is final. The race referee will address all participants prior to the commencement of the race.
After the Race
Immediately after the final participant has completed the course the event bus will return all people to the bottom of the mountain. Participants will then make their own way back into Laurieton. The riverside markets are on and the official presentation and after party will commence at Laurieton Hotel at 12.00 pm.
A barbecue will be held at the Laurieton Hotel with food available for purchase from 11.45 am.

Lucky Draw Prizes
Each participant goes into the draw to win a range of prizes. The main prize is a $2,000 travel voucher. The winner must be present at the prize ceremony and must claim the prize within 30 seconds of the announcement being made. In the event of a lucky draw prize not being claimed within time the prize will be redrawn.
