Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the delay with the Nipper photo password: (see yr email) The photos are accessed through the Nippers pages on www.chslsc.com If anyone took photos which you would like to share that last weekend, or yesterday, please contact Rowena rjbenn@gmail.com to put them on the website. (I use Dropbox or Picasa to transfer pics, but can use any method you prefer.) What a great day yesterday was. It was busy with the Bronze course, Bronze Annual Proficiency Assessment and Nippers, so thank you to all helpers who work so well together to ensure it all ran smoothly. We could not be happier with how well all Nippers, and particularly our new Nippers, are going. Their participation and enthusiasm levels are great. The Age Mangers, Coordinators and Water Safety people couldn't be happier with how the Junior Surf Life Savers - In Training (Nippers) are going. See you Friday for Board Paddling in the river. Remember - everyone is welcome to join in. Thanks.

Hi Everyone,
There is a big day happening at the beach on Sunday. BM Proficiency: An external assessor is arriving to conduct the annual proficiency assessment for all Bronze Medallion holders. This assessment needs to start right at 9am as the Bronze holders are needed to enable the Nippers to do their water-based activities. Patrol #4: please arrive early to make sure the beach is set up and patrolled for 9am. Other Bronze Holders: please arrive early to help Patrol #4 set up, and get the assessment underway as early as possible. Nipper Parents (who are not Bronze Holders): please arrive closer to 9.30am to help set up for Nippers, hand out pink rashies etc so Nippers can get underway at 10am. The Bronze holders who usually help won't be available until the Proficiency is finished. Trainee Bronze/SRC members (who are not Nipper parents): training for BM/SRC will start at 11am. Remember: Sausage sizzle for lunch after Nippers so plan to stay around a little while after 12pm. Other Stuff: Nipper Board Paddling: is currently being run fortnightly - next session is Friday 1st Nov. Once more Nipper parents are qualified Bronze Holders we will be able to look at running board paddling every week. There is currently not enough qualified Bronze Holders to meet the water safety requirement each week. Adult Board Paddling: everyone is welcome to come down to the river when the Nippers are paddling. It is a great opportunity to build your board skills and strength in the safety of the river. It's important to let Glen or Linda know (contact details on website) so arrangements can be made to bring enough adult boards. If you have room to pick up one or two in your own vehicle that will always help. We pick up the trailers at the Surf Club @3.30pm. Meet us there to collect your board. See you on the beach :-) Hi Everyone,
Representatives are attending from the Mid-North Coast Branch to undertake our proficiency for this season. Please make every effort to attend Sunday 27th 8.45am for a 9am start. Nippers is on as well, so please arrive on time. See you there. Nipper Evaluation will be at Laurieton Pool 3.30pm - 4.15pm regardless of weather. This is the final opportunity to be evaluated this season. Please make every effort to attend.
Nippers Board Paddling will be on regardless of the weather. If the weather deteriorates we will hold an inside session at the club house - signals, first aid etc. A confirmation SMS will be sent @2pm. See you there. There will be a nippers evaluation at Laurieton Pool this Friday 18 October from 3.30 to 4.15 pm. If your child is aged 7 or above they must complete this evaluation otherwise they will only be permitted to participate in limited water activities. If your child is aged 7 or over and did not complete their evaluation at Laurieton pool a couple of weeks ago they must attend and complete this Friday. This will be the last evaluation session run by our club for nippers this season.
Nippers who are going to do board paddling this Friday must have completed their evaluation. If you need to get them to the pool first please do so that they can complete their evaluation and they can join board paddling when they arrive at North Haven Baths. All children aged 7 and over will paddle their boards in deeper than waist deep water in the river which means that they will not be able do board paddling unless they have completed their evaluation.&nb sp; The safety of our nippers is of utmost importance and is not flexible or negotiable in any way. Our 5 & 6 year old nippers can do board paddling as we conduct their activities in the enclosed area of the baths in less than waist deep water. Our new young nippers were great in surf the last week and we reckon they are going to be little super stars when we get them on the boards on Friday. Dave Napper will be at the pool at 3.30 pm on Friday to complete the evaluations. Thanks Dave. Glen O'Brien President - Camden Haven SLSC (Inc) What a great start to Nippers last weekend. Our new nippers were particularly impressive. It's not a nippers week this week but we have got a huge week ahead.
* Friday Nipper's Board Paddling at North Haven Baths. Be there at 3.45 for a 4.00 pm start. This is a great way for our new nippers and U6's & U7's to learn how to paddle a board while our more experienced nippers can work on their board paddling skills and building up their endurance. * Basic Beach Management course on Saturday at Port Macquarie. Contact Michelle on 0457 834 408. * Saturday 9.00 is Ironkids at LUSC. We need a big contingent of our nippers (minimum age 7) to participate in this fantastic, fun, non-competitive event. Details and registration at www.ironmanportmacquarie.com WE URGENTLY NEED NIPPERS PARENTS TO VOLUNTEER TO ASSIST FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS FROM 8.00 AM. PLEASE CALL LINDA ON 0428 853 983 * Saturday night is our season kick off party from 6.00pm at the surf club. We have had an influx of new members to the club this season. Bring the kids and familiarise yourselves with our other club members. There is no better place to kick back of an evening than on our surf club balcony. See the flyer for more information. * Sunday we are having a combined Nippers session with our mates from the Wauchope Bonny Hills club at Bonny Hills. Please be at Bonny Hills club house around 8.30 for a 9.00 am start. The extra nippers session early in the season will be invaluable for our kids - our new nippers in particular. Got any ideas, feedback, comments, suggestions? If so please contact please let one of our committee members know. Stay safe on the beach - cheers.
