I am thrilled to announce that our all terrain vehicle (ATV) has arrived and will be put into service shortly to replace our ailing old tractor - "Dolly."
There will be an operational briefing for all patrol members on this Sunday (16 Feb) at 3.30 pm following the club meeting at 2.15 pm. It would be great to see all members at our club meeting. All patrolling and reserve patrolling members who hold a driver's licence are urged to attend the operational and safety briefing at 3.30 pm. If you wish to be allowed to operate the ATV you need to attend this briefing and be signed off by the committee. The ATV is not to be used for any purposes prior to this. The addition of the ATV signifies the highest dollar amount upgrade of surf life saving equipment in our club's history. This addition will greatly enhance public safety on our beach. Equally importantly, this ATV will provide a much greater level of workplace safety for our members performing their vital and essential volunteer duties. This coupled with our almost completed programme of upgrading our inflatable rescue boat (IRB) hulls represents a significant step forward for our club. The official launch of our ATV complete with MP's and dignitaries will be on Sunday 23 February at 9.30 am preceding our SundayNippers. We will also bid farewell to "Dolly" and commemorate her many years of loyal service. Can't wait to see you all on the beach this Sunday at 3.30 pm for your test drive. What a great day Last Saturday was when we hosted the Branch Surf Life Saving Championships. Our carnival organiser Linda Hoffman put on a great event and all club members who volunteered are to be congratulated on their fine efforts. It was great to see so many club members roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. Competitors, officials, spectators and invited guests were suitably impressed with the show put on by the CHSLSC.
